SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager
Obtain extensive knowledge and confidence in using agile methods when working and facing challenges as a product owner / product manager in a scaled environment!
Using Lean-Thinking methods, you can structure long-term vision into individual elements within the development process.
Emphasis is placed on preparing and carrying out PI- Planning, effectively running iterations in the development team, Product Backlog Management, describing customer value-oriented requirements as well as promoting innovation and quality in the Scrum team.
Through this and other content, participants learn important aspects of working in scaling and how to implement them skilfully – from the high level to User Stories.
After the course, participants possess a comprehensive set of knowledge and methods to meet daily challenges of a product owner / product manager with confidence. Transferring theoretical content to everyday work life is supported by many practical exercises and group discussions.
The 2-day course is conducted by our experienced Scaled Agile Framework® Program Consultants. Participants’ respective backgrounds are considered, and the theoretical content is conveyed in a practical manner. As a Scaled Agile Inc. Bronze Partner, Novatec has trainers with many years of project and training experience.

This course is aimed at anyone who works in customer requirements or product management and would like to acquire a deeper insight into scaled environments or who already have experience in a scaled environment and would like to further enhance their methodological skills as a product owner/product manager. We recommend solid Scrum and agility knowledge as a basis for this certification course.
To acquire this basis, you can take part in our Leading SAFe®, Product Owner Schulung or Professional Scrum Product Owner Schulung training courses, among others.

- Exploring product owner and product manager roles
- Customer-centric design and communicating product vision
- Creating Epics, Features and deriving User Stories using Lean Thinking and agile methods
- Optimizing product backlog with prioritization methods (Cost of Delay)
- Managing program dependencies and effective backlog management in terms of risks
- Understanding support, planning, and execution roles for team and program iterations
- Program Increment Planning preparation and execution from a product perspective
- Performing a system demo and its potential challenges
- Improving program performance through Inspect and Adapt Events
- Promoting innovation and quality at all levels
- Familiarizing yourself with and promoting the Community of Practice
As part of this course content, each training course focuses on the group’s specific needs and challenges.

As an SPC, I prioritize strategic approaches, emphasizing measurable business objectives, tangible results and a clearly defined purpose. My commitment to continuous learning is evident in the variety of certifications I have earned, including PSM I, SPS, KMP I, SA, RTE, LPM and APM.
My motivation as a coach is to provide organizations with a robust framework for structural improvement and to empower individuals with the tools necessary to be successful in their respective roles.
